Hi. Have you ever needed to know when a user ejected a USB device?
If you have a file open on that device then the answer is probably yes.
This script registers the device with Windows using RegisterDeviceNotification.
Without registering your device with Windows you will still receive some default
notifications such as 'DEVICEARRIVAL' and 'DEVICEREMOVECOMPLETE', however,
after you register then you will receive 'DEVICEQUERYREMOVE' notifications.
This allows your script to prepare for device removal by saving and closing any
open files that it has open on the device thus attempting to prevent data corruption.

Hi. Could I ask a favor of you? Do you have access to a Windows XP (x64 or x86) machine and two USB devices? If so will you run this program on that machine and hook the two devices up and then unhook the devices in various orders and verify that the script works? I would be much obliged.

Updated.  Works again (for me at least).  Please report bugs if you try it out.  Requires a version of AutoIt3 that has support for ternary operators, 1st class functions, etc.

A different approach to getting the first drive letter from the mask. I ported from the example on MSDN.
