Can AutoIt3Wrapper Directives accept variables (or be used as variables)?

Is there a working version for something like

$version="1.0"
#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Fileversion=$version

?

I use $version in various places and it's illogical to define it twice. Likewise for program's name, etc.

LWC,

As directives are actioned before any code, I do not see how you could use a variable within one. ;)

Then what about the other way around? Using something like:

#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Fileversion=1.0.0.0
$version=#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Fileversion

(I've updated the topic's subject accordingly)

In 4 years you've never tested this? Did you really need to ask this at all, because a simple test would have told you that wouldn't work.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

This works fine in a compiled script:

Global $VERSION = FileGetVersion(@ScriptFullPath)

Ended up using the following with special support for beta versions:

#cs
[FileVersion]
#ce
#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Fileversion=1.2.3

$version = StringRegExpReplace(@Compiled ? StringRegExpReplace(FileGetVersion(@ScriptFullPath), "\.0+$", "") : IniRead(@ScriptFullPath, "FileVersion", "#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Fileversion", "0.0.0"), "(\d+\.\d+\.\d+)\.(\d+)", "$1 beta $2")
