Hummmm... That's just weird. Does the slowness happen even with the simple script I posted above?

What about some anti-virus or ant-malware product running on the remote machine?

I disabled kaspersky antivirus and it's running fine now.

We've had SO MANY issues with kaspersky, yet I always forget to include it in the list of likely suspects.
