Automation of Email Notification

Am automating installation process of my application.

Once the installation is done,I want to notify the result thru email to particular Ids.

Whats the process to automate the same.

As you suggested I found a sample udf.When trid the same got the following error:

Error code:2 Description:The transport failed to connect to the server.

Request to drive me towards the solution for the above.
