Not trying to re-invent the wheel here, but I found some examples that did A-L-O-T that I didn't think was necessary (like forcing owner-drawn), the sparse number of the web examples were failing miserably too. It looked like @argumentum was taking the path I was on, his is much more feature rich ( 😅 ) ... Hello all, I am aware that most of you may have seen similar questions being asked a lot. I've spent some days know to go through many of the propesed answers but so far none of those answers were able to help me to resolve the issue, i.e. interacting with a standard ComboBox of a third party software. I am doing this on Windows 11 (22H2) using AutoIt v3.3.16.1. What I am trying to do is to select a language from a ComboBox when running an InstallShield setup launcher (setup.exe). I am making some GUI with combobox for the Baudrates communications and I listed 9600, 57600, 115200. I wrote the code to be defaulted to 57600 like this: GUICtrlSetData($comboBox_opticalBaudRate, "9600|57600|115200", "57600") But I wanted the GUI to remember the last item the user picks so the baudrates will NOT be defaulted to 57600. Example, I pick 9600 as my baudrates, then I close the GUI, after opening it, it always prompt 57600 since that is what I did in my code. But I want that if I choose 9600 and close the GUI, opening it again will show 9600 now instead of 57600. Is there a way to do it in GUI setting? Thanks.

As the title implies, trying to mimic Microsoft Word (Older version) using RichEdit. Not an easy task, it's not even 1/10th of what word really is but I wanted to make a small text editor (That supported changing an individual word/letters properties). Some of the functions I wanted to use didn't have a whole lot of information/topics about them so I spent many many hours trying to figure out how to do some things... (Like getting the text from a ExComboBox or changing the color of the rich edit text without changing ALL of the rich edit text (Turns out I just needed to update my AutoIt version....)) Some of the things I struggled with was reading the Font Size from the ComboBoxEx (GUICtrlRead and ControlGetText do not work, by themselves, but if you use _GUICtrlComboBoxEx_GetEditControl to get the GUICtrlID of the ComboBoxEx you can use ControlGetText), trying to track a Popup menu for the font size (I didn't want to use a dropdown menu, trying to use the scroll wheel to increment/decrement the text in the ComboBoxEx, making sure the correct attribute buttons are Checked depending on the location of the caret (This isn't 100% perfect, I got it to pretty much work though... I originally had it checking the letter 1 left of the caret all the time, except when the caret is at the 0,0 mark, but if the caret is at the very end and the user presses one of the attribute buttons, it won't keep the button checked correctly). There are a few other things but I can't think of them. I don't know enough about the WinAPI in order to make a truly amazing wordpad but maybe this will help some others out there trying to use some of the controls I used. Also, this was actually made to be attached (_WinAPI_SetParent($frmEditor, WinGetHandle("[Class:LWJGL]")) to a game I play (PokeMMO), so there may be some remnants of the game stuff in here. I don't think so, but there might be... It still functions properly. (There is no gameplay automation, it's just supposed to be a child of the game and work as a simple text editor. Hi Forum, I am struggling to select an IP address from "Server Interface" dropdown (ComboBox2) of tftpd32 client. tftpd32 is a TFTP server - TFTPD32 : an opensource IPv6 ready TFTP server/service for windows : TFTP server (pagesperso-orange.fr) The IP addresses (and the associated interfaces) are dynamic in ComboBox2. What I want to do is to select an item from ComboBox2 which contains a given IP address (eg. 192.168.2.1) - (which is hidden in the picture as it is at the bottom of the list) and fill the edit field with the selection. (Note : the ComboBox items contain the IP address and the Interface name, therefore IP address is just a part of the item) I am not sure whether functions such as _GUICtrlComboBox_SelectString() are only to be used with Autoit generated ComboBoxes. Hello Forum, I have one special Combo-box [with BitOR($CBS_DROPDOWNLIST, $GUI_SS_DEFAULT_COMBO, $CBS_SIMPLE) ] and if I press one button I want to change the Combo-box's background color, and after I press Button B I want to change it to the basic settings and it not works. I wanna do this with one combo-box. I have already tried several methods and I tried GUICtrlComboSetColors that I have found on this forum. Hi so i ran into a Problem i didn't expect to get stuck on. It's essential that its Editable but once the checkbox is checked the combobox becomes readonly so you can't type in it anymore but you can still choose between the items in the list. I possibly misunderstood the value of combo boxes, but I thought you could type a value, press enter and the combo box would store that value. The reason for wanting this is to store a history of typed commands into the combo box (accepted by pressing enter). After hours of trying to trap enter on a combobox I realized that the enter event was not registering. Good morning I'm working on a little project, and I was wondering if there's a way ( sure there is ) to insert data to a ComboBox control everytime the user insert some text in the ComboBox which is not in the ComboBox data. I'll try to explain with an example: - Form with some data ( ComboBox is empty ); - User prompt something in the ComboBox: if what the user prompts is not in the ComboBox values ( at the moment empty ), then insert the value in the ComboBox values, in order to have, next time the user prompts the form, the value that he entered. More pratical example: - First call of the form, ComboBox empty; - I prompt "A" in the ComboBox; - Second call, in the ComboBox I should see "A"; - I prompt "B" in the ComboBox; - Third call, I should see "A" "B"; - And so on... Everytime the form is called, I re-create it, so I think I can't use _GUICtrlComboBox_AddStrings(). Let's say I have 10 combobox and 10 items in each. 1- If one item in a combobox is selected, I don't want it to be selectable in another combobox. (Or if it is, remove the duplicate one) 2- When I click on button, I want 10 msgboxes to show, and each item showing in each msgbox in order they are selected. (from combobox1 to combobox10) I'm confused whether to use select or switch or other loops.
